Annual Directors Conference

The IoD Nigeria Annual Directors’ conference is the Institute’s flagship event, which is attended by captains of industry and directors in both private and public sectors of the Nigerian economy. It is a forum where contemporary issues affecting leadership and corporate governance of Nigeria’s businesses are x-rayed and global best practice solutions provided by professionals and practitioners in corporate administrations. In addition, it provides a once-a-year rare opportunity for board members and management staff of different organisations to meet and network thereby creating business opportunities for their organisations.

The 2021 Annual Directors’ Conference and the Special Business meets Government Forum of the Institute is scheduled to hold from Tuesday, 23rd to Wednesday, 24th November 2021. The event will hold as a Hybrid format, combining both physical attendance and online attendance.

The physical venue is the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Maitama, Abuja.

The 2021 Annual Directors’ Conference with the theme, “Creating the Future: Deepening the Corporate Governance Practice through Multi-Sectoral and Multi-Generational Collaborations”, will focus on the significance of engaging new generation directors, young entrepreneurs and the public sector in the quest to deepen the practice of sound corporate governance, good leadership and best practices.

The Keynote Speaker is Mr. Tony Elumelu, CON Chairman, Heirs Holding. The Conference would expectedly be declared open by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, while Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, CON, F.IoD, Chairman, BUA Group and His Excellency, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, CON, the Hon. Minister of Industry, Trade & Investment are expected as Chairman and Guest of Honour at the Opening Session. 

The two-day event would be rounded off in the evening of Wednesday, 24th November 2021, with the Special “Business Meets Government Forum”.

The Special Business Meets Government Forum is also an exclusive high-profile event which attracts a cross section of notable Business Leaders and Captains of Industry in the private sector who will get the chance to meet and interact with Nigeria’s top-level public-sector technocrats and policy makers.

Institute of Directors, Nigeria (IoD), is a Professional Institute and the foremost leadership organization which among other things, develops professional skills of directors and business leaders, promotes corporate governance, represents her members to government, etc. The Institute undertakes, provides and supports research, thought leadership, peer interaction, education and training of directors and leaders. Through its Centre; IoD Corporate Governance, the Institute also carries out corporate governance advocacy and training targeted at the organisation as a whole in recognition of other stakeholders impacting or impacted by the activities of directors and leaders.
