A CONFERENCE FOR ALL
The Women Directors Development Committee (WDDC) of IoD Nigeria will be having its annual conference on Thursday, September 22, 2022. This is a flagship event to contribute to the fulfillment of the mandate of the WDDC to develop women directors, both seasoned and aspiring.
The theme of the Conference is Facing Forward – The Evolving Nature of Boards in a Rapidly Changing World. This theme was chosen given the significant macroeconomic, business, geopolitical, social and corporate governance developments and the impact in the boardroom. Directors must effectively connect the dots from these external developments to the boardroom, to provide the required entrepreneurial and strategic leadership on the Board.
Some of the developments include, the cocktail of food, fuel, inflation and currency pressures/crises; the COVID-19 reset, ESG, growing shareholder activism, Nigeria’s political transition, rapid adoption of technology, and impact of these on women empowerment strategies. We are in a time of significant paradigm shifts which all leaders need to interrogate and leverage. The conference will have an Opening Keynote, Lunch Keynote and Closing Keynote. There will be webinars on the Changing Board Agenda; the Impact of Macroeconomic Pressures; Seizing Global Opportunities; The Women Agenda: What Next?
