Mr. Mustapha Jinadu, F.CIoD

He presently sits on the board of Sterling Bank Plc, Trust Bank Nig Limited, NCR Nigeria Plc, Neimeth Nigeria Plc, Fanmilk Nigeria Plc, amongst others, where he serves conscientiously as the Chairman of the Audit Committee. Over his more than two decades of board experience, he had contributed his expertise to the committees of several listed companies, including National Oil (now Conoil Plc), Tropical Petroleum Plc, SCOA Nigeria Plc, NAL Bank Plc, now Sterling Bank Plc and UNIC Insurance Plc. He is presently the Managing Director of Mus-Jin Nigeria Limited, a position he has held since 2002.

Mr. Jinadu became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD) in 2020, after years of unfeigned commitment and dedicated service to the Institute. His impactful contribution to the advancement of the Institute is evident in many ways, particularly in his service as Member, Branch & Development Committee of CIoD, 2015-2017 and Member, Audit & Risk Committee of CIoD from 2016 to date. He has also served as Member, Annual Directors Conference (ADC), National Organising Committee of the Institute of Directors for nine (9) years. Mr. Jinadu is reputed to have intentionally developed his capacity as a member of the Institute by participating in a number of CIoD’s high profile director development programmes within and outside the country. These include Company Direction Course (CDC) I, 2014; CDC II, 2015; Advanced Company Direction Programme (ACDP, UK, 2021); and Independent Directors Masterclass (IDM, 2021).

He started his career as a Sales Executive at Dairy Products Nigeria Limited (Fan Milk Plc) in 1976, after graduating with distinction in Business Administration from the University of Lagos. Subsequently, he assumed the role of Administrative Manager at Newsum Engineering Limited from 1981 to 2002. In the course of his career, he undertook quite a lot of executive leadership education in many Ivy League institutions around the world, including Harvard Business School, 2011 & 2018; Columbia Business School, 2017; Stanford University Graduate School of Business, California, USA, 2014 and University of Pennsylvania (The Wharton School), 2012 & 2013, amongst others. He is a leading member of many business associations, including the Nigerian Shareholders Solidarity Association (NSSA).

Mr. Mustapha Jinadu is excited about the anticipated opportunity to work collaboratively with fellow Governing Council members of CIoD to realize the shared vision for the Institute with a view to contributing significantly to the growth and prominence of the Institute, elevating its stature as a beacon of governance excellence in Nigeria. He will be bringing to the Council excellence, integrity, and impactful leadership.

Leveraging his wide network across industries, Mr. Jinadu is committed to strengthening the Institute’s partnerships with key stakeholders in banking, commercial, and other industry associations, as he believes that by fostering collaboration and dialogue, we can collectively address emerging challenges, advocate for corporate governance reforms, and drive positive change in the corporate landscape.
