YOUNG DIRECTORS COURSE (YDC I, II & III)

 

Overview

Young Directors Forum (YDF) of the Institute of Directors Nigeria is a network of young, talented and up-coming board leaders who serve as executive or non-executive directors in small and big firms across sectors of the Nigerian economy. These young directors are keen knowledge seekers who are interested in taking advantage of the IoD Nigeria platform to build capacities in corporate governance skills, practices, as well as taking advantage of access to free mentorship services, while creating strong peer networks that add value in the course of discharging their roles and responsibilities as directors. Ultimately, they are groomed to become IoD Chartered Directors who give back to the society by mentoring others and supporting the growth of IoD Nigeria.

However, in preparing them for a bigger role and possible upgrade, IoD Nigeria has structured a modular course which will speak to their needs.



YOUNG DIRECTORS COURSE (YDC) I (INTRODUCTION TO CORPORATE GOVERNANCE & ENTREPRENEURSHIP)

  • Entrepreneurship & Corporate Governance 

  • Entrepreneurship Concept, Practice & Types

  • Nexus between Corporate Governance & Entrepreneurship

  • The Business Case for Corporate Governance

  • Common Entrepreneurial Challenges and How to Manage them

YOUNG DIRECTORS COURSE (YDC) II (ENTERPRISE GOVERNANCE) 

  • Forms of Business Organisation & Skills for MSME Management

  • The Duties & Liabilities of MSMEs Directors

  • Board Structure: Practices and Options for Young Businesses

  • The Essentials of Business Leadership & Innovation

YOUNG DIRECTORS COURSE (YDC) III (MANAGING FINANCE & STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIPS) 

  • Understanding Financial Statements & Financial Reporting

  • Directors Relationship with Management and Stakeholders

  • Leveraging Good Governance Practices to Access Finance and Investment Opportunities

  • Driving Commercial Growth through Business Ethics, Regulatory Compliance, CSR & ESG Investments


Delivery options

           Online- online participation option, which involves participants connecting from their location through Zoom or any other platform as maybe provided by IoD Nigeria. This is the current very feasible option.

           Hybrid- hybrid participation involves the integration of online and the physical participation. This option may be arranged only for in-plant programmes

           Face-to-face Instructor Led Onsite Session- participants come to an agreed venue to participate in the programme. (This option is not guaranteed for now due to the need to keep strictly to the prescribed COVID-19 restriction protocols)

Fee: N60,000 per module or N100,000.00 per two modules, for payments made at once, or N150,000.00 for the three modules, if payment is made once
